This lovely fabric-lined pyrography box measures 2" high by 3.5" in diameter. It was likely produced by the Flemish Art Company in New York at the turn of the last century. It is a nice early Flemish box, with a gorgeous deeply carved motif of a single Rose on its lid and buds and leaves around its sides. The original patina is a beautiful deep and rich brown. It has a simple unhinged dome lid. This box is initialed 'A.P.' on the base, and does not bear the Flemish Art mark, but it is likely one produced and distributed by the company. It is in original condition, with just normal wear from 100+ years of handling. It is fabric-lined in an old red velvet, likely original to the period, which show some age, but it is all there. This vintage lidded round box makes a very rich presentation.
