This lovely fabric-lined pyrography box measures 2.5" high by 4.5" across by 3.5" wide. It was likely produced by the Flemish Art Company in New York at the turn of the last century. It is a nice early Flemish box, with a gorgeous deeply carved motif of tulips and buds. The original patina is a beautiful deep and rich brown. It has a working brass latch and brass hinges for the lid, with some replacement nails on the rear. This box does not bear the Flemish Art mark, as far as we can see, but it is likely one produced and distributed by the company. It is in original condition, with a split in the base wood, shown in the photos, and is however, well-intact. It is fabric-lined, likely original to the period, which show some wear, but it is neat to find the fabric remains. This vintage lidded box makes a very rich presentation.
