This gorgeous pyrography trinket box measures 1.25" high by 12.5" long by 4.5" wide. It was likely produced by the Flemish Art Company in New York at the turn of the last century. It is a nice early Flemish box, like a glove box, with a gorgeous deeply carved Poinsettias/Leaves motif. Best of all the Poinsettias are colored in a vibrant red enamel with green leaves, very pretty. There are very nicely carved accent details from top to bottom, and inside and out. The burnished wood grain mimics an alligator's leathery skin, a great accent. The original patina is a lush brown, allowing the wood grain to show so nicely. It has a working brass corner hinges for the lid. This box does not bear the Flemish Art mark. It is in original condition, with some handling marks and wear. This vintage lidded box makes a very rich Arts & Crafts presentation.
